Academic profile of Mugabe Leon

Mugabe Leon is an Assistant Lecturer at The University of Rwanda, College of Education. He is an employee of the University since 2007. He holds a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction, a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts with Education, a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) and an Advanced Diploma in ICT and Pedagogical Development.

He has wide teaching and research experience in the areas of social sciences, social science teaching methods, ICT Integration in education, History, and Geography of Rwanda, Genocide, conflict management and peace education, Contemporary moral issues, Regional planning, and sustainable development, Human Geography and urbanization

Urbanization constitutes his latest research corner where for the last 4 years, together with other team members, He worked on a research project “Sustainable, Healthy and Learning Cities (SHLC). The project generated a number of reports and journal articles published. They include the report on Rwanda National Urban Policies and City Profiles for Kigali and Huye”, journal articles like the Kigali City Profile ; the Urban Growth and Land Use/Land Cover Changes in the Post-Genocide Period and Understanding the Concept of Neighborhood in Kigali City just to name a few. Besides, Mugabe is currently conducting a Ph.D. research on “learning strategies to help residents of Kigali City to cope with its rapid expansion and changing lifestyles”
