Ms. Assumpta Mukandera is a Lecturer of Biological Sciences atthe University of Rwanda, College of Education since 2007. She has a Master’s degree in Biology of Organisms and Ecology from ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) and a Postgraduate certificate in teaching and learning in Higher Education from the University of Rwanda-College of Education.She has worked firmly with undergraduate students, supervised their memoirs and action research reports and she has a very good knowledge of Science Education and Biological sciences with a special interest on the study of edible mushrooms. She published papers on the valorisation of wild edible mushrooms and her current research areas concern Mycology and Development in the Great Lakes Region and the implementation of learner-centred pedagogy in Higher Education. She is a PhD student in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, ULB, Belgium.
