Pascasie’s Biography

Mrs. Pascasie Nyirahabimana is an assistant lecturer at University of Rwanda-College of Education (UR-CE).She is a PhD student in Physics Education at African Centre of Excellence for Innovative Teaching and Learning Mathematics and Science (ACEITLMS) based at the UR-CE. She holds a master’s degree in Physical Sciences in-depth approach from University of Liege in Belgium and a postgraduate diploma in teaching and Learning in high Education.She holds a bachelor’s degree in science with a specification in Physics andchemistry with education obtained from the university form Rwanda college ofeducation (UR-CE, former Kigali Institute of Education).Pascasie is a researcher and she is a co-author of different papers related to STEM Education. The fields of her current interest are Science Education, Physics Education and Theoretical Physics.Pascasie has over twelve (14) years’ experience of teaching physics in undergraduate and high school levels. She is a developer of training manuals of URCE continuous professional development(CPD) programme for math and science teachers of primary and secondary school in Rwanda. She also a developer of Math, Science and SET script lessons aligned with Rwandacompetence base curriculum (CBC) to be used by both lower secondary and upper primary schools. Pascasie is a Physics team leader in Rwanda Quality Basic Education for Human Capital Development” Project.She is a trainer in CPD of STEM teachers in Rwanda primary and secondary schools organized by UR-CE, AIMS, REB and VVOB. Pascasie she Co-Founder and Deputy Legal representative of Rwanda association for women in science and engineering (RAWISE). Through community engagement and RAWISE outreach activities, Pascasie use herleadership/coaching/mentorship position and empoweryoung generation particularlywomen in order to excel in STEM related subjects.
She is an active member of various academic and professional organizations such as Rwandan Association for Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE), Organization for Women in Science for Developing World (OWSD) and Rwanda Astrophysics, Space and Climate Science Research Group (RASCSRG).
