The University of Rwanda poses to fete its 9th Graduation this Friday, November 2023, with a total of 8321 students from all its six Colleges. Statistics indicate that the University of Rwanda- College of Education boasts the highest number of graduating students, which is 3,591. There are from all its programs which range from undergraduate to postgraduate programs.
As announced earlier, the 9th Graduation of UR will take place at the Musanze District Ubworoherane Stadium in the Northern Province. Among the 8,321 graduands, 3591 are from the University of Rwanda College of Education. 19 of them will be conferred with Ph.D. degrees, 70 will be awarded Master’s Degrees, 3250 will get Bachelor’s degrees, while 221 and 30 will be awarded Diplomas and Postgraduate Certificates in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTH) respectively.
As clarified in the previous communications, each graduating student is allowed to be accompanied by one invitee who can be a parent or a guardian, a friend, or any other relative. Regarding logical arrangements, it was announced that the Private Sector Federation (PSF) in the Northern Province in general, and the transport Companies, in particular, are ready to contribute to the success of the UR 9th Graduation. To ease the transport, graduating students were advised to contact these companies to book their seats and their invitees at their cost.
As has been the culture at the University of Rwanda since last year, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Rwanda Prof Kayihura Muganga Didas said during the Rwanda TV talk show dubbed “Waramutse Rwanda” broadcast on 15th November 2023, that graduates will collect their degree certificates, and transcripts immediately after graduating.
As noted by the Communication, Internationalization, and Alumni Division of the University of Rwanda, in their Press Release published on this occasion, the UR 9th Graduation has nothing extraordinary, but a function meant to fete brilliant achievement by students and staff and tremendous support from parents and guardians for their contribution towards the academic success of these graduating students.
