PROFILE OF MR.JMV HABUMUREMYI

He is currently an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda/College of Education and the Subject Leader for Early Childhood Education. He holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Studies from Kenyatta University. He has experience in teaching, research and consultancy in Early Childhood and Primary Education. He attended a number of workshops on developing and validating the TTC and URCE Early Childhood Programs. He participated in developing REB curriculum for Pre-primary as a Quality Assurer and writing related pedagogical materials. He worked with UNICEF in developing pre-primary education minimum standards and guidelines. He worked with National Early Childhood Development Programs (NECDP) in developing the National Strategic Plan 2018-2024 for NECDP.

  • He worked with UNICEF in writing the Primary School Teacher’s guide on Learning through play for Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB). He worked with Rwanda Interfaith Council on Health (RICH) and UNICEF for writing the Sermon Guide based on Holy Scriptures (Bible and Qur’an) to promote Early Childhood Development (ECD). He is a member of Content Advisory Group (CAG) for ITETERO Program. He is a member of REB Technical working committee for developing audio-visual content to enhance early learning education. His area of research interest is teaching and learning in pre-school and primary.
