25 Mar 2024

To further improve the progress achieved in inclusive education, the ANSWER project’s Management Meeting was held on Friday, March 22nd, 2024, at INES-Ruhengeri. This important meeting came after completing the project’s second Train of Trainers program, which took place from March 19th to 21st at the same venue.

Chairing the meeting, Ms. Noelia López, the Senior Project Manager from the University of Alicante, warmly welcomed everyone and outlined the day’s agenda. The agenda encompassed various important aspects of the project’s implementation, with each Work Package (WP) delving into key areas vital for its success.
Following Mary Kobusingye’s presentation from MINEDUC-Rwanda on Work Package 8(WP8) – Systemic Impact, the discussion revolved around identifying stakeholders and organizing meetings and working groups with several stakeholders.

In her presentation, Ms. Viktoriia Hrebenik, the Administrative Project Manager from the University of Alicante, navigated through the financial and administrative aspects of Work Package 1 (WP1), shedding light on crucial details to ensure smooth operations. She highlighted bad practices observed so far in reporting and good practices that need to be adhered to.

Ms. Hrebenik also spearheaded discussions on Work Package 4 (WP4), focusing on acquiring assistive technology—a cornerstone in the quest for inclusivity within educational frameworks.
Talking about Work Package 6 (WP6), Ms. López elucidated the strategies surrounding capacity building through blended learning approaches, aiming to empower educators with the tools necessary to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Mr. Munyaneza Eustache from INES-Ruhengeri made an overview of Work Package 7 (WP7). The focal points encompassed the formal establishment and enhancement of Support Centres for students, coupled with a meticulous three-year strategic blueprint aimed at fortifying these pivotal support structures.

Bahati Omari from UWEZO Youth Empowerment took the spotlight, steering conversations on Work Package 9 (WP9), which delved into the pivotal realm of Disability Industry Internship. The discourse centred on outreach campaigns targeting companies, private enterprises, SMEs, associations, and NGOs—a concerted effort to integrate persons with disabilities into the fabric of the workforce.

Rounding off the meeting, discussions veered towards Work Package 10 (WP10), with a meticulous review of internal evaluation results since the management meeting held in September 2023. Additionally, the imperative of external evaluation was underscored, emphasizing the project’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

To wrap up the meeting, discussions shifted towards Work Package 10 (WP10), where par-ticipants carefully examined the results of our internal evaluation since the ANSWER pro-ject’s last management meeting in September 2023. Additionally, the imperative of external evaluation was underscored, emphasizing the project’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The ANSWER project is like a guiding light, showing the way towards a fairer and more inclusive society. In this society, everyone, no matter their abilities, has a proper place in the journey of learning and progress.
