Hundreds of Educational Practitioners, Academicians, Researchers, And Postgraduate Students Expected In The First International Conference of Education In Kigali

From 28th -30th March 2023, the University of Rwanda-College of Education through Leaders in Teaching Initiative (LIT) program funded by MasterCard Foundation, in collaboration with the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Great lakes will be holding, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV), the ‘First international conference on Re-shaping Education for Sustainable Development.

The organization of this conference was motivated by the fact that 21st century is characterized by unpredictable changes in all aspects of human lives. Therefore, it was found imperative to devise innovative educational strategies to adequately prepare current and future generations to proactively confront such challenges.

It is expected that the conference will gather participants from different countries who will discuss sixteen thematic areas. This conference will be a good opportunity to share experience and exchange ideas on how to chart our journey forward to reach new heights.

It will be organized under the theme of “Re-thinking Holistic Education for the Fourth Industrial Revolution”. The 16 thematic clusters /sub-themes include :
 Enhancing quality in education
 Teacher education and development
 Educational Leadership, policy, and governance
 Research, , and knowledge transfer in education
 Equity, diversity, and inclusion in education
 ICT integration in education
 Education access, and flexibility
 Rationalization of scarce resource in education
 STEM Education
 Managing education in emergency/marginalized population
 Practicum and teacher education
 Education for sustainability
 Early childhood education
 Lifelong Learning and Involvement of Enterprises
 Health care and Education
 Human rights and Peace education

So far, several abstracts have been shared to the editorial committee that reviewed them. As per instructions the preferred mode of presentation is oral in person. Only few exceptional cases shall be allowed to present online, making this a hybrid conference.
For a smoother organization of the Conference, a calendar of key activities was elaborated and communicated. Therefore, submission of abstract (150-250 words) was set on 30th January 2023, and the notification of acceptance on 20th February 2023, while final /reviewed abstract submission was slated for 1st March 2023.

The abstract (150-250 words) had to be in Microsoft Word format, Times New Roman, font size 12, and written in one block paragraph. Any referencing had to be in APA style, content focus on education and title must indicate a thematic area selected from any of the 16 (sixteen) provided above. Authors’ full contact details, affiliation had also to be indicated. An electronic mail address for the Conference was created and published to facilitate sending the abstracts.
