Training mathematics and science teachers in laboratory experiments is to improve the quality of teaching and learning mathematics and science subjects through the increased teachers' content and pedagogical knowledge and skills needed for the effective enactment of the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) implemented in Rwanda since 2016..

Usually Mathematics is an abstract subject. However, during the training, we have conducted many hands on activities like proving the value of constant Pi (π), Pythagoras theorem, and to prove the area of a circle which helped us to concretize Mathematical concepts in order to deepen learners understanding.
Through this training, my professional abilities in teaching have been improved. I am particularly delighted to have learnt how to use ICT tools and e-resources like scripted lessons in teaching Mathematics. I am able to integrate 5E's (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate) in my lessons thanks to the CPD-ITMS program.
I am very happy with the package I got from the CPD-ITMS program. At my school, I am applying what I have acquired in the training such as using ICT tools and e-resources like a projector, animations, and simulations.
