Dr Védaste MUTARUTINYA Profile

Dr Védaste MUTARUTINYA (PhD) pursued his studies in the Faculty of Sciences at Friendship People’s University of Russia (FPUR) / Moscow, where he obtained a BSc’s degree (1994), a Master’s degree (1996) in Mathematics and Physics and a PhD (2000) in Mathematics. He holds several certificates including a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
He taught mathematics at FPUR from 1996 to August 2000 as an Assistant Lecturer. From September 2000 to April 2004, he was Lecturer of Mathematics and Secretary of Mathematics department at former KIE. From April 2004 to 2007 he was Senior Lecturer and Head of Mathematics department. From 2009 to July 2010, he was head of Mathematics and Physics department. From August 2010 to June 2013, he was Vice Dean, Faculty of Sciences. From July 2013 up to September 2014 he was the Dean of Faculty of Sciences.From February 2016 to February 2017, he was Acting Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement at University of Rwanda- College of Education. From 2007 up to 2019, he was member of NCHE’s / HEC’s Board of Directors where he chaired the Audit committee from 2012 up to 2019.
He is the author of several scientific articles and most of his works were published in highly acclaimed academic journals. His fields of expertise /research are : Functional Analysis, Differential Equations with applications and Mathematics Education. Currently he is Senior Lecturer of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Science and Physical Education, School of Education at UR-CE. In addition, he is an Associate Member of the African Centre of Excellence and Innovation in Teaching/Learning Mathematics and Sciences (ACEITLMS) at the UR-CE, a Member of the UR-CE research screening and ethics clearance committee and etc.
