Dr. Kampire Edwige holds a PhD degree in Chemistry from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (South Africa), a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from the former Kigali Institute of Education and a certificate in designing and facilitating E-learning (Level 5) from the Open Polytechnic New Zealand.
She is a lecturer of Chemistry at the University of Rwanda-College of Education since 2006.
The current research of Dr Edwige focus areas include the analysis ofPersistent Organic Pollutants (PoPs) in various environmental areas and studies related to science education.
She has published articles on environmental chemistry and chemistry educationin peer-reviewed research journals and she isrecognized as international reviewer for international journals.
Recently, she has obtained a Research Award on the occasion of “International Day of Women andGirls in Science” in recognition of her research productivity widely renownedfor a significant impact on the society and her demonstration of additionalefforts to promote science among women and girls in Rwanda.
Dr. Edwige is a member of various academic and professional organizations. She is a member of the Rwanda Chemical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the African Network for Chemical Analysis of Organic pollutants (ANCAP), the Rwandan Association for Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE) and the organization of Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD).Dr. Edwige is an associate member of the African Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning Mathematics and Sciences (ACEITLMS).
