Academic and Professional Profile (Feb 2021)

Anthony KAMANZI, holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (English and French), completed in 2002 at UFR Lettres, Langues et Sciences Humaines, Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand II, France. In 2009, he obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGC –LT-HE), Kigali Institute of Education (KIE), Rwanda.
He is Senior lecturer of Literature in English in the College of Education, University of Rwanda (UR). In addition, he is a coordinator of Learning and Teaching activities of Literature in English as a subject. Besides his normal teaching activities at Secondary Schools and at the University level, he has been a Head of Department of Literature (French, English, Kinyarwanda and Kiswahili), a Deputy-Dean and Program leader of the School of Education, University of Rwanda (UR), and Examiner in Chief for “O” and “A” Levels, Uganda National Examinations Council (UNEB), Uganda.
Concerning research work, publication and scholarly activities, Anthony KAMANZI has recently published a book of stories : Stories of the Past and the Present Times (Histoires des Temps Anciens et Présents (April 2020). Presently, he is engaged in two other research works : an article entitled “The Impact of Language and Literary forms on the socio-cultural, political and economic Development. The experience of Rwanda”, and book : Man and his passions in neo-epicurean and liberal French and English writers/thinkers of the “First Modernity”. Besides, he has so far supervised more than 80 research works at the Bachelor and the Master’s Degrees (French and English), and wrote some concept notes for PhD candidates.
And as for consultancy services and community engagement, Anthony KAMANZI has acquired knowledge, interest and competences as a Higher Education Council’s Institutional Auditor and Program Reviewer, a book reviewer, a developer of courses and modules, a setter and proof reader of French and English recruitment tests and examinations, text books for national and internal organisations, etc.
