ACADEMIC & WORK PROFILE :
Alex Barigye KABUTO

Mr. Alex BarigyeKABUTO studied his Master’s from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth where he graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Management. Prior to this, he went to Makerere University where he studies Statistics and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, majoring in Economic Statistics. He also holds postgraduate certificates in Human Resources Development (HRD) from the East and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI), Arusha, Tanzania and Diplome d’Etudes en Langue Francaise (DELF).

Mr. KABUTO has worked with different institutions and in various capacities. He worked with the Rwanda Tea Board (OFFICE DU THE) and also worked with the Office of H.E. The President as Director for Human Resources Development (HRD) – a position where he coordinated all HRD developments in the country. He also had a short stint in Marketing before he joined the teaching career.

He teaches at the University of Rwanda’s College of Education and at one time taught part – time at Mt. Kenya University, Rwanda (MKUR). He has taught many subjects including Mathematics for Economics, Entrepreneurship Skills, Business Planning, Business Law, Quantitative Methods, and Intermediate Economics, Introduction to Statistics and Econometrics, Principles of Economics, Money and Banking, Introduction to Management, Business Statistics and Operations Research (O.R.) among others.

In research, he co – authored an article titled, “A Competence – based Curriculum In Teaching Financial Education – What Happens In Classrooms ?” that was published in the International Journal of Accounting and Finance Studies in September, 2020.
