Associate Professor Innocent Muhire holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Johannesburg and a Master’s in Geography from Bangalore University with 18 years of relevant working experience.

He has relevant practical working experience in training and capacity building of staff and scholars gained through the delivery of various academic courses/modules of geography, environment, GIS among others at different high Learning Institutions at national, regional, and international scales. He is highly experienced in program advisory, preparation of project implementation plans, and consultancy services, especially in natural resources, environmental science, climate change, adaptation and mitigation to climate change, GIS, and related fields.

Furthermore, he has international and nationally recognized experience in writing books, consultancy reports, and scientific papers. He has already delivered 18 consultancy services with different governmental and non-governmental institutions in Rwanda and published 14 articles in both national and international journals. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer of Geography at the University of Rwanda - College of Education.
