As the University of Rwanda prepares to celebrate #URGraduation2025, one group quietly stands at the heart of every success story — the lecturers.
Across the University of Rwanda, lecturers remain the cornerstone of academic excellence and national transformation. Their unwavering dedication to teaching, research, and mentorship continues to shape future leaders, innovators, and change makers.
Through their tireless efforts in classrooms, laboratories, and communities, UR lecturers not only impart knowledge but also inspire curiosity, integrity, and a spirit of lifelong learning. Their collective commitment reflects the University’s mission to nurture graduates who are equipped to contribute meaningfully to Rwanda’s sustainable development and global progress.
At the College of Education (UR-CE), this spirit shines even brighter. These educators go beyond classroom teaching to mentor, guide, and inspire thousands of future teachers and education leaders who are shaping Rwanda’s learning landscape. Their commitment to academic excellence, educational research, and innovative teaching continues to transform not only minds but the nation’s approach to learning.
In the words of Brazilian educator Paulo Frere , “Education does not change the world. Education changes people. People change the world.” This truth is vividly reflected in the work of UR-CE lecturers who dedicate their time and energy to empowering learners with the knowledge, values, and skills to drive change in their communities.
Every lecture prepared, every research paper supervised, and every word of encouragement given to a student is a step toward national transformation. From nurturing critical thinking to integrating technology and inclusive teaching methods, UR-CE lecturers embody the university’s vision of education that empowers.
As graduands prepare to cross the stage this 17 October 2025 at UR Huye Campus, each applause will also belong to the lecturers — the mentors who lit their path. Their unwavering dedication reminds us that the true impact of education goes far beyond the classroom ; it lives on in the lives and communities their students will serve.
To all University of Rwanda lecturers thank you for shaping futures, inspiring dreams, and proving that teaching truly is the art of changing the world.
