He is Lecturer of mathematics and head of Early Childhood and primary education Department in the University of Rwandan-College of Education. He holds a PhD degree in mathematics education from University of Bristol, UK. Prior attending masters programme in mathematics (rings and module theory) then joining UR-CE, Alphonse Uworwabayeho was a secondary school mathematics teacher. He is involved in educational research at both local and international levels. In particular, whilst he was doing his PhD programme, at the same time he was leading a five years research project on improving education quality in basic education. His current research focuses on (i) integrating ICT in the teaching and learning of mathematics in basic education, (ii) scientific argumentation in science and mathematics; and (iii) language of instruction on students achievements in mathematics.
